Sasha Alexander

A talented and versatile actress in both film and television, Sasha Alexander is best known for her role as Special Agent Caitlin “Kate” Todd in the first two seasons of the popular drama NCIS. Alexander was also a regular on the critically acclaimed drama Dawson’s Creek, as well as Presidio Med and The Nine. In addition, she has had guest-starring roles on such popular shows as Friends, House and Greg the Bunny.

On the big screen, Alexander recently completed the independent film Coming and Going as the romantic lead opposite Rhys Darby. She was also part of the all-star cast of the hit film He’s Just Not That Into You and co-starred with Jim Carrey in the movie Yes Man.

Alexander’s other feature film credits include Mission: Impossible III, with Tom Cruise; Tenure, opposite Luke Wilson; and Love Happens, alongside Aaron Eckhart. She has also appeared in many independent films, including The Last Lullaby, for which she won the Best Actress Award at the San Diego Film Festival; Play Dead; and All Over the Guy, opposite Christina Ricci, Lisa Kudrow and Adam Goldberg.

Lorraine Bracco

Lorraine Bracco’s multifaceted performances in all arenas have earned her a global fan base.  Currently in TNT’s smash hit drama, Rizzoli & Isles, Ms. Bracco supplies her own brand of humor as the meddlesome mother to Angie Harmon’s hard-boiled Det. Rizzoli.

Bracco is perhaps best known for her role as psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Melfi who treats New Jersey Mafia heavyweight Tony Soprano on HBO’s hit series, The Sopranos.  Her concise, understated portrayal earned her multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations for Best Actress in a TV Drama. Additionally, Ms. Bracco is an Academy Award nominee for her performance as a mobster’s wife in Goodfellas directed by Martin Scorsese.  She also starred with Sean Connery in Medicine Man, and with Drew Barrymore in Riding In Cars With Boys directed by Penny Marshall.  In addition to film and television, Ms. Bracco starred on Broadway as ‘Mrs. Robinson’ in Terry Johnson’s adaptation of The Graduate and is the author of her best-selling memoir, On The Couch.

Brian Goodman

Character actor Brian Goodman’s unmistakably tough, rough-hewn exterior seemed to pigeonhole him, automatically lending him to portrayals of cops, army majors, guards, lieutenants, prisoners, and other figures with an aura of menacing imposition.

At 12, Goodman quit school and started living on the streets. He sold drugs, married young, and served time in prison for his criminal activity. When Goodman came out of prison, he would steal from drug dealers. He became an actor after watching the movie Brian’s Song. He made his movie debut in the 1998 movie Southie.  

In 2008, Goodman co-wrote (with fellow Rizzoli & Isles alum Donnie Wahlberg) and directed the Ethan Hawke/Mark Ruffalo film What Doesn’t Kill You. Goodman has also had recurring and guest-starring roles in a number of different films and television series, including Line of Fire, 24, Lost, Castle.  His movie appearances include The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Munich and Catch Me If You Can with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Brian, who has played the recurring role of Lt. Det. Sean Cavanaugh in Rizzoli & Isles since 2011, has been upped to series regular for the show’s third season shooting now in LA.

Michael Massee

Born in Kansas City where he lived until age one, Michael moved with his parents, both writers, to Paris where they still reside. After graduating from high school, he took some time off to travel around Europe, North Africa and the Middle East finally returning to the States where he graduated from New York’s Hunter College with a degree in theatre and writing with top honors. Shortly after graduation he began auditioning in the city while waiting tables and eventually landed roles in feature films and television.

Michael has starred mostly as villains in movies and television. He has guest-starred in TV series such as CSI, Criminal Minds, Cold Case, Fringe, Supernatural and 24. More recently, he portrayed imprisoned serial killer Charles Hoyt in the first two seasons of Rizzoli & Isles. Michael also appeared in movies Se7en, The Crow and upcoming release The Amazing Spider-Man alongside Martin Sheen and Andrew Garfield.

Janet Tamaro

Janet Tamaro is the creator and executive producer of TNT’s blockbuster series Rizzoli & Isles, which averaged 8.9 million viewers this year and ranks as basic cable’s #1 drama of all time. Tamaro began her screenwriting career in 2000 with a script for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She earned an Emmy nomination for Sleeper Cell and shares a Writers Guild Award for Outstanding Series for her work on Lost. She also wrote for two seasons on the hit series Bones.

Tamaro was a television correspondent and a best-selling author of such books as So That’s What They’re For! before becoming a screenwriter. She covered national news for ABC NewsOne, among other news outlets and was based in New York and Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. She reported and produced investigative stories for long-form newsmagazine shows, including Inside Edition and America’s Most Wanted. She has won several journalism awards for her work. Tamaro has a bachelor’s degree from Berkeley and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. She is married to moto-journalist and Cycle World Radio host Steve Natt.  They have two daughters.

Tess Gerritsen

Trained as a medical doctor, Tess built a second career as a thriller writer. Her 23 novels include the Rizzoli and Isles crime series, on which the TV show Rizzoli & Isles is based. Among her titles are THE SURGEON, ICE COLD, and THE SILENT GIRL. Her books are translated into 40 languages and more than 25 million copies have been sold. She lives in Maine.

Russ Grant

After retiring from Boston Police Department in March 2011, Russ moved to LA where he works full-time as the technical advisor to Rizzoli & Isles. His pedigree is strong, 32yrs BPD (5uniform/27detective) Drug Unit/ Asian Org. Crime/ 11 yrs Homicide.

Anthony Hardwick

Starting his career in documentary filmmaking, Anthony went onto work on TV shows such as Lie to Me and Entourage and films such as Brüno and Borat. Anthony is Director of Photography for Rizzoli & Isles and has been on board since episode 1, season 1.
