Sophie B. Hawkins

Sophie B. Hawkins is a Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, musician and painter. Her biggest hits are “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover”, “Right Beside You”, and “As I Lay Me Down”.  Her first album earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and fired the well-played single, “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover”, into the Top 5.  Another gold album, Whaler, followed two years later along with the single, “As I Lay Me Down” that would chart in Billboard for a record-breaking 67 weeks. She also has one of VH1’s Top 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s.

Another 3 albums followed, and in November 2008, she became the proud mother of a son Dashiell. Right now Sophie is hard at work writing a Broadway musical for Kristin Chenoweth, and has a new song ‘Life is a Bomb’ on the soundtrack to the brand new Lea Michele movie ‘New Year’s Eve’.

Her eagerly-awaited new album ‘The Crossing’ will be available for purchase at the party. It includes acoustic versions of ‘Damn, I wish I was Your Lover’ and ‘As I Lay Me Down’.

We are proud and overjoyed that Sophie is able to join us at RizzlesCon 2012, taking time out from a busy promotional schedule. Sophie will appear alongside her band and will be performing songs new and old.
